Engine Mount Replacement Cost by Vehicle: 24 Popular Cars, Trucks & SUVs (2026)

Engine layout, mount type, and parts availability create significant cost differences between vehicles. Economy cars with simple rubber mounts are the cheapest; European luxury vehicles with hydraulic mounts and tight engine bays cost the most.

Single-mount replacement at an independent shop. Labour reflects typical flat-rate book-hours at independent-shop rates of $110-$135/hr (European and luxury models run a little higher); dealers charge more. Parts reflect typical aftermarket prices; confirm the book-hours for your exact vehicle with your shop.

Economy Cars (Under $400)

Civic, Corolla, Elantra, Malibu all use standard rubber mounts costing $30-$70 each. Labour is straightforward on these transverse-layout engines. If you are quoted over $400 for a single rubber mount on one of these cars, get a second opinion.

Mid-size Sedans ($200-$500)

Honda Accord and Toyota Camry span a wider range because V6 trims use hydraulic mounts ($80-$130 each) while base 4-cylinder models use rubber ($40-$60). The 2007-2011 Camry V6 is known for hydraulic front-right mount failure causing the famous Camry startup shake.

Trucks, SUVs & Minivans ($215-$600)

Heavier mounts, 4WD complications (+0.3-0.5 hr), and greater engine bay packaging account for higher costs. The Odyssey uses electronic-active mounts that should be replaced with OEM only. The Wrangler's off-road use can halve mount lifespan to 50-70k miles.

Luxury & European ($370-$800+)

Hydraulic mounts are standard across BMW, Mercedes, and Audi. OEM part costs are 3-4x higher than economy rubber mounts. Dealer labour rates at $160-$220/hr push totals to $700+ for a single mount. Use an independent specialist for non-warranty work to save 30-45%.

Reader questions

Told you need all four mounts when only one is knocking?

Send the estimate over with whatever the shop told you, and we will work through what the numbers on it should look like for that vehicle.

Who reads it
A person. This site does not sell parts, book jobs or hand your details to a shop, so nothing is waiting at the end of an answer.
What comes back
A reply that says where each figure came from: the flat-rate book-hours a shop bills against, a named parts supplier's price, or the regional labour-rate band.
If it helps others
Some questions are worth more than one inbox. We ask you first, then take out anything identifying before an anonymised version goes on a page.
Where this stops
This is a price and symptom reference. It is not a diagnosis and it is not a repair procedure. A clunk under acceleration can be a mount, and it can as easily be an axle, a sway-bar link or a loose exhaust hanger, and the one thing email cannot do is tell you which. That needs a mechanic with the car on a lift. Price, part choice and what a written quote should itemise are all fair to ask here.
